Commencement Address at Providence College
Judge Frank Caprio, a 1958 graduate of Providence College, has been announced as the commencement speaker for the college’s 107th ceremony in May 2025. Caprio stated he is “excited and honored” to return to his alma mater for this event.
Health Updates and Recent Activities
This engagement comes as Judge Caprio’s health is reportedly improving following treatment for pancreatic cancer. Despite his health challenges, he has remained active and recently published a memoir titled “Compassion in the Court: Life-Changing Stories from America’s Nicest Judge,” which he wrote after his diagnosis.
The 88-year-old judge maintains a significant presence on social media, particularly Instagram, where he shares messages about kindness, life lessons learned from battling cancer, and the importance of telling loved ones you care. He frequently posts about health and exercise, including highlighting National Walking Day, and appears to be physically improving.
Judge Caprio is also busy spending time with family, participating in book signings, giving television interviews, and preparing for his commencement speech. He noted that messages received after a recent EWTN story are providing “spiritual guidance” for his upcoming address.
Other Commencement Honoree
At the same ceremony on May 18, Providence College will also honor Archbishop Richard Henning. He served as the Bishop of Providence from 2023 to 2024 before being appointed Archbishop of Boston.
